Tropicana Probiotics Juice

Hey there, loves! Who's up for something yummy, new & healthy!? (cue emoji hand, now) You guys know that I am all about nourishing my body with all things good-for-you! When it comes to whole body health, your gut & digestive system play a huge role in keeping your immune system strong & healthy and keeping your body balanced in general.

Through the years, I've suffered from more digestive issues than I care to recall! With that being said, in order for me to keep my digestive system in check, I have fine tuned my diet to keep my tummy happy, healthy & bloat-free. For me, fueling my body with clean, non-processed foods, drinking 3-4L of water per day & including foods/supplements containing probiotics are just a few things that have been essential in cultivating & keeping my gut health in harmony.

Recently, one of my favorite ways to get my daily dose of probiotics, is with the new & delicious line of Tropicana Essentials Probiotics juice. This line of probiotics-packed juice is is available in 3 fabulous flavors:
Strawberry Banana | Pineapple Mango | Peach Passion Fruit

Tropicana Probiotics Juices are full of good-for-your-gut probiotics - one billion live & active cultures per 8oz. serving to be exact! Something else I'm loving about this product!? No added sugars & no artificial flavors + each serving contains a healthy dose of Vitamin C, as well as Vitamin A (Peach Passion Fruit)

What Are Probiotics?

Probiotics are live bacteria and yeasts that are good for your health, especially your gut/digestive system. Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium are the most common types of probiotic bacteria - Lactobacilli inhabit your small intestine, and Bifidobacteria live in your colon. For me, probiotics are one of those essential supplements that I can't live without - I can absolutely tell a difference when I do/do not take them. There is a noticeable difference in how my stomach looks & feels + I feel like my digestive system breaks down my food so much more efficiently!

I've been enjoying a glass of Tropicana Probiotics Juice with my breakfast in the morning and after a tough workout - the natural sugar makes for the perfect little pick-me-up! Topicana Probiotics Juices can be found in the juice section at your local grocery store! Peach Passion Fruit is my favorite flavor - let me know what yours is in the comments below! xx

Much Love,

Fiber One Diet

Towards the end of 2016, with a stellar suggestion from my momma, I decided to add Fiber One to my diet on a regular basis. I've eaten Fiber One in the past and for no particular reason, got away from it. Its been about 3 months since I've been eating Fiber One regularly - anywhere from 3-5x a week - and I can totally tell a difference in my digestion.

You'll find that my plate is typically full of greens, colorful veggies & some type of lean protein, and while I do eat my share of complex carbs - oatmeal, sweet potatoes, quinoa, brown rice, apples, a high fiber cereal such as Fiber One - getting enough fiber in my diet is always a top priority for me in order to keep my digestive system in check.
With that being said, another thing Mom has been really into that I'd like to share with you all, the F-Factor Diet. The "F" in F-Factor stands for Fiber. I don't know about you guys, but, I think fiber is pretty fabulous! A diet high in fiber is the secret to a healthy digestive system and ultimately, that flat tummy we all desire + fiber stabilizes your blood sugar, lowers cholesterol and can even prevent certain types of cancer pertaining to the gut/colon.
I love the F-Factor Diet because its not really a "diet" its basically how I live my life - eat clean, wholesome, REAL food - and its all about fueling your body with fiber filled foods - fruits, veggies, complex carbs - and lean proteins - fish, chicken, eggs & lean cuts of red meat - this high fiber + protein combo helps to lose and/or maintain a healthy weight + keep you satiated & energized as you move throughout your day!
I believe there is still a [huge] misconception about eating carbs and weight gain. The key is eating the RIGHT carbs! When you nourish your body with the good-for-you carbs, the ones that give you energy & stabilize your blood sugar that I listed above - you can actually lose weight, (if needed) and feel full longer all while eating less - yes!

Doesn't that bowl of cereal above look delicious & so nutritious!?

I love to combine 1/2 cup of Fiber One with several shakes of cinnamon ( a natural energizer & metabolism booster ) with whatever fresh fruits I have in the house, typically fresh berries & a banana, with raw nuts & seeds ( almond, walnuts, cashews, pepitas ) as you can see by the photos above! :) Fill your bowl with a bit of unsweetened vanilla almond milk (my favorite brand is Califia because its carageenen free) and voilà! you have one seriously yummy, fiber filled breakfast to get your day started the happy, healthy way! Depending on how hungry I am, or just want some extra protein, I'll scramble up one organic egg + some egg whites to eat, as well.

*Worth Mentioning* If your body isn't acquainted with high fiber foods and you'd like to introduce Fiber One (or any other fibrous food) into your diet you might actually feel bloated, initially, as the fiber works its way thru your system. Of course, every BODY is different - but if your belly bloats a bit before flattening out - no worries, this is totally normal ;)

Hope this post inspires your to eat more fiber filled foods to help you look & feel your best! xx

Much Love,

Abby's Better Nut Butter

If your a Nut Butter Lover (like me) and enjoy trying out new & delicious Nut Butters, I have a treat for you - Abby's Better Nut Butter!

Abby Kircher, now 17 years old, launched Abby's Better Nut Butter when she was just 15 years old! Pretty amazing, right!? Abby's Nut Butter was born out of a desire to live a healthier lifestyle and to find a [better] alternative to one of her favorite snacks - Peanut Butter! Initially, Abby switched to store bought Almond Butter but soon found herself bored with the bland Almond Butter's she was finding on store shelves. Abby began experimenting in her own kitchen, combining only the healthiest of ingredients with some of her favorite nuts and started sharing her nut butters with family & friends. After seeing such a positive response, Abby realized she had something special and her nut butter business quickly took off from here!

Abby's Better Nut Butters are made right here in North Carolina, using the purest ingredients and with the yummiest nuts - walnuts, pecans, cashews & almonds! Abby's Better Butter blends, using no more than 5 ingredients per jar are absolutely delectable and simply sweetened using natural ingredients such as dates, honey & maple syrup.

Enjoy these scrumptious nut butters in oatmeal, with an apple or banana, on toast, or, one of my favorites...simpy grab a spoon!

Now thru December 24th, you can stock up on Abby's Better Nut Butters by taking advantage of their current sale: 2 for $20 or 3 for $30. Also, for my dear readers, enjoy 10% OFF your order using code: Laurensfavorite (thru Dec. 24th as well)

Much Love,

Hiya loves! Sharing some food snaps + a glimpse into what I eat on a daily basis, giving a few examples of some of my favorite foods that I rotate thru to fuel my body from breakfast, to lunch, dinner & snacks in between....
What I eat changes based on my work schedule, travel, workouts, hormones, rest days, cardio and/or strength workouts vs. yoga, etc...

SMOOTHIE BOWLS. either a green or fruit smoothie bowl, that typically involves 1-2 frozen bananas, plant based vanilla protein powder, and I recently switched to making smoothie bowls with water beacuse with all the sweetness from the fruit, you really don't need to use almond milk (or milk of your choice). I love to add fresh berries + superfoods like chia seeds, hemp seeds and coconut flakes as toppings!
EGGS. fried egg (in coconut oil), soft boiled eggs or scrambled eggs. I LOVE eggs, you guys! I typically match the "egg of the day" up with perhaps some avocado toast on a slice of my favorite Udi's GF Millet-Chia Bread, or simply 1/2 an avo. Eggs + a bowl of fruit is another favorite of mine. Or an omelette made with greens (organic spinach or arugala) + goat cheese. #YUM
GOAT YOGURT + FRUIT BOWL. Another favorite brekkie option of mine is a big bowl of yogurt + fresh fruits & berries - I love & eat goat yogurt only. I usually add a sprinkling of cinnamon and some type of superfood like chia's or hemp seeds.
OATMEAL. 1-2 times a week I'll add in a bowl of oats for some healthy, complex carbs. I like to eat oats on a tough workout day like boxing or a leg day.

SALADS. Nearly every day, I make & take a salad to eat for lunch on the go. Its super simple to pack a salad in a medium sized tupperware for a clean meal no matter where you have to be. For me, this is between clients!
QUINOA VEGGIE SALAD.  just as it sounds, quinoa + loads of veggies. this is a great pre-workout me loads of energy. I just have to make sure I eat at least 1.5 hours before my workout since quinoa is a bit heavier on the tummy.

FISH + VEG & SALAD.  salmon & tuna are 2 favorites. simply seared, baked or poached along side a veggie like asparagus
PORK TENDERLOIN + ROASTED SWEET POTATOES & SALAD. one of my favorite dinners is a lean pork tenderloin + my roasted sweet potato wedges and a salad full of greens & raw veggies. This is a great recovery dinner after a tough workout! :)
CHICKEN & SALAD. Several nights a week, I love to make organic chicken breasts in the pan + a giant salad full of greens & veggies & goat cheese. Dressing is always a bit of olive oil, apple cider vinegar + sea salt & pepper.

GoMacro Bar, Pure Bar, KIND Bar.
Apple + Raw, Unsalted Nuts or Seeds | Walnuts, Cashews, Almonds, Pepitas, Sunflower Seeds
Peanut Butter Banana Fingers | slice banana in half, lengthwise, and add PB! :)
Hard Boiled Egg + Apple

I have such a sweet tooth, guys!

I eat fruit like, every single night...cherries, berries, organic frozen mango are some of my favorites! Add a drizzle of pure maple syrup & a pinch of cinnamon. Delish!
NICE CREAM. Frozen bananas + a splash of almond milk in the food processor. SOOOO GOOD!!
Dark Chocolate

I say this all the time, but I honestly feel like I can't say it enough....
Always (always) listen to your body, love & fuel your body with wholesome foods that make you feel energetic, healthy & happy.
If your not already, be sure to follow along on snapchat (@laurenschwaiger) where I'm constantly sharing what I eat & sweaty snaps at the gym! xx

VLOG | How To: Cut a Pineapple

Hiya babes! A short & fun Vlog for anyone out there who may be how I was years ago, which was afraid to cut into a whole pineapple. So silly, I know... but, I was. Coming from a family of amazing cooks and where fresh fruits are always found in our fridge - pineapple, watermelon, cantaloupe, papaya - I used to be afraid to get into the kitchen and do allll sorts of things out of fear of doing something wrong or not turning out good enough, but I got over that, and cooking and preparing your own foods at home is so rewarding & way more satisfying!! That got a little off topic, but even something as small & simple as cutting into a whole, fresh, pineapple at home vs. buying those containers of pre-sliced pineapple at the market is just so much better!

Something I forgot to mention in the video...when is your pineapple ripe & ready for cutting!?
The bottom will start to turn yellow and you can actually smell that it is ripe because it starts to smell so yummy & sweet!!

Store your pineapple slices in a tupperware in the fridge to pull out and enjoy whenever your craving something sweet, toss into a smoothie or in a fruit & yogurt bowl! xx

Much Love,
