Enjoyed my morning routine, coffee, brekkie, posted this weeks Music Monday - French themed post for this week - then hit the Y for an awesome workout! It felt so nice to get my workout over and done with for the day rather than schlepping myself to the gym at 830-9pm like I have been for the last several Monday's.
Cardio + Strength Workout
Treadmill: 40 minutes - 10 minute W/U - 20 minutes: 2 min run/1 min walk (ran at 6.o) - 10 minutes: 1 min run/1 min walk (ran at 6.5)
Strength Circuit - Triceps, V-Bar Pushdowns: 20x4 - Flat Bench, BB Press: 30x4 - Overhand Cable Pulldowns: 20x4 - Hanging Leg Raises: 20x4
I am absolutely not a runner. Never have been, never will be. I've always been envious of those people at the gym or that I see in passing on the side of the road just running and running (and running) along like its just so easy and effortless. ughh Not for this girl! Running 1-2 minute intervals at a time is plenty for me. Speed varies between 6.0-7.5 and the occasional 8.0 sprint. Just all depends on what my workouts have looked like throughout the week & how my leggies are feeling. I've been blessed with flat feet + all kinds of leg "stuff" (stupid tight hips & IT Bands, to name a couple) that I have to stay on top of with stretches, yoga, massage, foam rolling. Good times. Long over due and SO happy to get in a much needed appointment with the amazing Dr. Brad at Carolina Sports Clinic this afternoon. Its been 3 weeks since I've been in man, I really needed this! Magical combination of ART, adjustment + acupuncture & dry needles opened up my chest and loosened up my neck & shoulders.
Wrapped up my day with dinner at one of my fave spots, Ilios Noche to catch up with one of my best friends!
Monday Clean Eats
Goji Berry & Maca Oatmeal. Decided to mix in my Maca with my oats this morning rather than in a smoothie today. Added the usual suspects - coconut oil & cinnamon.
Post Workout Green Smoothie. - Mâche Rosettes, small gala apple (cored & peeled), 2 stalks celery, banana, lemon, water & ice. Ate 2 hard boiled eggs, an orange & some almonds about 20 minutes after I drank my smoothie.
Grape & Fennel Salad. Spinach, Fennel, Red Grapes, Goat Cheese, Figs w/ Grilled Tuna on top. Delish!
The night ended with my gf asking me to be a bridesmaid in her wedding next August!! OMG, yes, I accept! So so happy for her!
