Tropical Green Smoothie
This weeks Green Smoothie packs a health punch with a mix of super greens + a super tasty combination of banana, pineapple + papaya - kinda gives you that tropical feeling. (ahh, if only) The fruits make this blender so flavorful you can't even tell its loaded with greens! (Not that I mind the greens, but I know not everyone is such a fan.) Banana, Pineapple & Papaya - these are on the top of my favorite-fruit-list and I include them in my diet on the daily, not only because I love the taste of them, but because of the health benefits they offer!
Papaya is loaded with Vitamins B & C + Potassium, a good source of fiber, plus an added benefit - Papaya's contain digestive enzymes. Pineapple is a great source of Vitamin C to help boost your immune system + contain Bromelain, a natural anti-inflammatory. And last but not least, the Banana. I buy about a dozen (if not more) at a time because I love for my bananas to be super ripe. A super ripe banana sweetens up any green smoothie, is a match made in heaven with PB (or my choice, Almond Butter) and increases their levels of antioxidants & vitamins. I eat a banana (or two) a day depending on my workout to replenish my potassium & other electrolytes.
Green Smoothie Recipe
- Super Greens Mix (about 2 handfuls) - 1 Banana - 3 slices pineapple - 3 slices papaya - 2 Stalks Celery - Juice of 1 lemon - Cinnamon - Water & Ice
