3 Clean Products I’ve Added to My Skincare Routine

3 Clean Products I've Added to My Skin Care Routine - Lauren Schwaiger Lifestyle Blog

Last month, I had the pleasure of meeting with Kathryn, the owner of Aillea, and take a tour of her brand new store & location in Park Road Shopping Center. Kathryn gave me the 411 on every single beautiful brand and product she carries in the store and let me tell you – one is more gorgeous and luxurious than the other.

Swapping out the products I have used and loved for years for clean ones, has been on my mind for quite a while, however, I hadn’t fallen in love with a brand to cause me to make the switch until now.

I had the opportunity to sample several products and I’m excited to share the 3 I’ve officially added to my skin care routine with you all in today’s post. If you have sensitive skin {like me} don’t be afraid to ask for samples to try for several days before pulling the trigger and purchasing a new skin care product. Most brands/businesses are more than happy to let you sample a product or two. I tested each of the below products for a solid week to make sure they made my skin happy & didn’t cause any reactions. I’ve done this for years and it’s a perfect way to make sure a product is the right one for you without wasting money.

Clean Skin Care Products - Luxury Skin Care - Face Serums - Lauren Schwaiger Lifestyle Blog

As I’ve made mention, my skin is DRY. With that being said, before anything else, I apply Osea Hyaluronic Sea Serum to my face both AM & PM. This moisture boosting serum contains hyaluronic acid, which is known to help retain the skins moisture & collagen levels. Hyaluronic Acid attracts up to 1,000 X its weight in water, strengthening the skin’s moisture barrier for visibly improved firmness and elasticity. This gooey, gel-like serum glides onto my skin and sinks in immediately. After applying my Osea Serum, I move about with the rest of my AM/PM Skin Care Routine.

I have been wanting to try this holy grail serum since I first heard about it, but without trying it first, I wasn’t prepared to make the $185 investment. Luckily, Kathryn sent me home with a couple sample pots with the serum to test out. Vintner’s Daughter contains 22 of the world’s most nutrient-rich botanicals and essential oils that deliver the most optimal concentrations of nourishing phytonutrients, balancing minerals, age-defying antioxidants, strengthening phytoceramides and amino acids, replenishing fatty acids, and brightening vitamins.

MY ROUTINE: Every night before bed, I cleanse my face and apply my Active Botanical Serum. I’m obsessed with the smell – the perfect mix of floral + earthy – and the feel of this luxurious oil on my face is amazing. I apply 3-4 drops on my face and neck and my super dry skin instantly feels hydrated and oh so glowy. The directions say you can use this AM & PM, however, I prefer to only use mine at night.

The color, the scent, the ingredients…oh my! I fell in love with this gorgeous serum immediately.  The superstar ingredient in the Maya Chia Super Couple Serum is astaxanthin. Astaxanthin is an anti-aging powerhouse (clinically proven to have 65X the strength of Vitamin C to fight free radicals) to combat dull, tired, aging skin along with with nature’s #1 superfood, chia, rich with skin-loving omega fatty acids, antioxidants & minerals. FUN FACT: Astaxanthin is what gives salmon & flamingos their pinkish color. So neat, right!?

MY ROUTINE: This is my AM Serum. I’m not a face washer in the morning. I simply give my face several splashes of cold water. A few sprays of Rose Water and apply 3-4 drops of Maya Chia Serum. The orangey/pink color of this serum gives my skin the prettiest glow. Then I head downstairs for coffee and pull my jade roller out of the freezer and roll my face. This is the best feeling first thing in the morning + it decreases any puffiness and really gets the blood flowing.

“progress, not perfection.”

Have you jumped on the clean skin care wagon? I feel like I was a little late to the party, but very happy with the changes I’ve started to make.

*worth mentioning*
I would never just throw away my skin care products, {the thought of wasting something just kills me} rather, as I finish a product, I am slowly adding clean, better-for-me products in its place. Something I’ve heard a few times that really resonates with me is “progress, not perfection”. I think this is a great reminder, not only for your personal care products, but in life. Every clean product you add to your routine, is a step in the right direction.

Happy Monday! Thanks so much for stopping in! I hope you enjoyed the post and I look forward to sharing more clean beauty products with you guys. Also, 3 of my fellow clean beauty lovers are sharing some of their favorite finds on their blogs and/or IG’s today so go and check them out as well.
