A Hotel Story with Donald J. Pliner

“A girl should be two things: classy and fabulous.”

— Coco Chanel

ever since I was a little girl I have absolutely adored staying in hotels! So much so, that I used to tell my parents that I wanted to live in a hotel one day. Now I’m all grown up {kind of} and its safe to say that my love of vacating the day to day in exchange of a luxe hotel to get primped & pampered has only grown stronger! A feeling I’m pretty sure any lady (or gentleman) can relate to, am I right!? After all, who doesn’t deserve a bit of spoiling every now and again!?

adam and I recently checked into The Ivey’s Hotel in Uptown Charlotte for a little staycation and to simply enjoy an especially fun & romantic evening together! I’ve been lucky enough to stay in some pretty amazing hotels all over the world – NYC, Paris, Miami, Spain, Austria, and more – and I must say The Ivey’s Hotel has done it right! Any one who knows me, knows that I’m quite the Francophile, so, it goes without saying that the Parisian decor you’ll find throughout The Ivey’s makes this a hotel after my own heart! Before heading to the hotel we picked up a bottle of rosé from our neighborhood go-to, Rhino Market, to sip on while lounging around our room & enjoying the balcony – the perfect place to watch the people of Charlotte stroll by.

uhm, why is getting all dolled up so much more fun when your not in your own bathroom? {ha!} The bathroom in our Balcony Suite was fit for a queen! I took my sweet time getting ready, checked emails one last time before heading out, slipped into my current favorite lace dress + these high heeled sandals from Donald J. Pliner. These shoes!! They were love at first sight! The white strap across the foot is made of lizard print leather + the elastic criss-cross strap around the ankle is such a fun & unique mix of materials that suit my casual-chic style perfectly.

life is full of little luxuries…
curling up on the couch with a good book, checking into a fancy-pants hotel, splurging on a fabulous pair of high heels or something as simple as watching the sunset with loved ones. what’s something you love to do either treat yourself and/or with your person!?
