hi babes! Happy May! Okay, so it seriously feels like I just hit publish on the March Edit. April absolutely flew and felt like the shortest month ever. I cannot believe it’s already May. How!?
I hope everyone is having the best Spring so far. It’s officially warm in Charlotte – YAY. April’s weather was all over the place – we were still having temps into the low 40’s and, a few nights even dipped into the 30’s. Definitely not complaining though. I love having a true spring season + a slow transition into super hot weather. Ugh, I’m already dreading the summer heat & humidity.
LIFE LATELY…
So the biggest update from last month is such a bummer. Not only did I get super sick with the worst head cold ever, but, I also experienced vertigo for the first time in my life. OMG. Vertigo is absolutely awful. Have you had it? I would love to hear your experience. I’m pretty sure it happened because I hit my head and I’m guessing it dislodged the crystals in my left ear. It’s a really long story and I think I might write a blog post about my experience and how I finally got better. But for now, I’ll tell you that the doctor I saw at Charlotte EENT diagnosed me with BPPV (Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo) and it took two weeks + a visit to my chiropractor to finally fix it. I spent 12 days feeling dizzy + on & off spinning and, it’s come and gone a few days as well. Such a crazy feeling. And I’m still not feeling quite like myself.
FIT + WELLNESS.
Since I was sick for half of the month, I didn’t exactly have the strongest month of workouts. I actually had my very first tennis lesson scheduled with my coach the same week I got sick and I was so sad that I had to cancel it. I am getting back on the court this week and I am so looking forward to it! I have been going for a lot of walks outside since I started feeling better. The weather has been so beautiful and I just love soaking up this time of year. I’ve been going for a golden hour walk in the evenings – it’s such a nice way to end the day. I love to pop in my ear pods and listen to music and/or a podcast. Before I got sick, I was getting back into going to yoga once a week and really enjoying it. I have totally gotten out of any type of regular yoga practice over the last few years and I’m trying to work it back in.
REALTOR LIFE.
I finally got one of my buyers under contract that I’ve been showing homes to for 2 months! I am SO excited for him and the timing couldn’t have been better because the interest rates just keep going up, so the pressure was on! I also hit a milestone in my career and got my very first million+ deal on a new construction townhome for the sweetest couple. So happy for them, too!
WATCHING.
BRIDGERTON.
OMG. I think I actually like Season 2 better than Season 1 – it is AMAZING! Although, I didn’t really love the first two episodes. However, I actually felt the same exact way about the first couple episodes in Season 1. Any way, episode 3+ is quite exhilarating to watch. The love story & chemistry between Anthony and Kate Sharma is hot, hot, hottt. haha I watched the first two episodes with a couple friends, watched the third episode another night, and then I binged the rest of the season until 2:30am one night. whoops.
SELLING SUNSET.
Definitely binged the new season in 3 days. The drama is off the charts and if it’s even possible, Christine is worse than ever this season. I’m so sad Chriselle and Jason didn’t work out 🙁 maybe he’ll change his mind on kids?
WE CRASHED.
I started WeCrashed on Apple TV and even though it’s not the best show I’ve ever watched, I’m fully committed, so I’m going to finish it. LoL The show stars Jared Leto & Anne Hathaway, and is based on the true story of the co-working startup, WeWork + the founder/CEO Adam Neumann. He is absolutely nuts! LOL Very interesting story behind the rise and downfall of the company, that’s for sure.
THIS IS US.
I can’t believe there’s only a few episodes left and the show will be over. I am so freaking happy that Kevin & Sophie finally reconnected.
LISTENING.
Always a mix of old & new, sharing what I’ve been listening to over the last month.
WEARING + WHAT I BOUGHT.
I bought a bunch of shoes last month – sneakers & sandals – for the new season. The only pair that aren’t brand new are the white High Heel Sandals from Marc Fisher. I purchased those last summer, they are still a favorite and I noticed they are currently 40% off.
I am obsessed with these ‘wasabi’ Slide Sandals from Sam Edelman and I lost count of how many compliments I got on them. lol they are so freaking cute, the pop of color is so fun for s/s, and they are so comfortable! They come in 7 colors and are currently on sale, too.
The Birkenstock Waterproof Slides are a summer essential. These are so perfect to slip on for the beach, pool and everything in between. They are crazy comfy, too.
I couldn’t decide which color New Balance 574 I wanted – Grey or White – so I kept both! lol Such a good neutral sneaker, they go with everything!
I purchased two new pairs of Levi’s – Ribcage High Waist Ankle Straight Leg Jeans + the 501® Skinny Jeans. The 501’s are definitely skinnnnnny! lol I’m honestly still deciding on whether to keep them or not. They have such an interesting fit through the leg, especially the calf. I guess some people just have really tiny calves. haha They have zero stretch so I have a size 27. I tried a 28 and they are huge + fit super weird. I feel like you either have the right body shape for these or you don’t. I do love the Ribcage Straight Leg Pair – great fit + I love the wash.

Nécessaire Deodorant // Nécessaire Hand Créme // AD 100 Coffee Table Book
I have been using and completely loving the Nécessaire Deodorant for about a month now. I quit using deodorant several years ago and never found a clean one that I liked or felt worked well. I felt like I was needing a little something for under my arms lately and the reviews on this one were all so good so I decided to order it and I’m so glad I did.
I also decided to give their Hand Cream a try because my hands, especially the top, always look so dry. Especially during the summer months when I get so much sun on my hands. I put this on right before bed every single night since I got it and I feel like I can see a difference in my hands looking more hydrated.
I’m still using & loving all the products I shared in the March Edit and linking those again below.

My poor fern has been screaming to get out of it’s original pot I planted it in 3 years ago! My mom has been on me to get the poor thing into a larger pot. lol That said, I’ve been eyeing this Ceramic Outdoor Pot at World Market forever and when they texted me a 20% Off One Item coupon, I decided to pull the trigger! lol PS. Sign up to be a World Market Member if you aren’t already – they have great perks, sales, special discounts, etc… I got the small planter it’s really big. The large is massive! I also planted some basil, parsley & a tomato plant to enjoy for the season!
Happy May! Hope everyone has a great month! xx – LS
Oh man, I just experienced my first case of vertigo yesterday (also BPPV, per Dr. Google) and I had no idea it could be so debilitating. Who knew something so tiny could have such a huge impact! After a scary morning I found some relief by performing the Epley/Half-summersault maneuvers, which I’m sure your chiro helped you with. All this to say, I understand what you’ve been going through!
Hi Alyssa,
I’m so sorry to hear you had the awful (and yes, scary) experience of vertigo! Yes, the Ebley Maneuver is exactly what my Chiro did for me. And sadly, the EEND did not do the full maneuver. I hope it has passed and you are feeling better! xo
