Hello Loves! Happy Monday! Hope Santa & the long Holiday weekend was good to you! Having 4 days off from work was amazing but I am SO looking forward to getting back on track with my normal healthy habits & for all the Christmas indulging to be over with! Eek!! Too much sugar, wine & rich foods have left this girl feeling a little puffy and this afternoons sweat sesh was SO needed!! (LOL)
So, about Christmas Eve…
As I wrote in my Schwaiger Christmas Weekend post, this year, my sister, her husband & the kids are with the inlaws in upstate NY, which makes for a super small & quiet Christmas. After our family weekend, Adam & I suggested hosting my parents for Christmas Eve which would be a huge change & a first for both Adam & I + my parents – mom, especially. My family is super traditional & my mom adores Christmas & having us all in the house every year.
Needless to say, my parents accepted our invitation, we Ubered them over to our place so they could just enjoy the night, take the night off from cooking, relax & not have to worry about drinking & driving.
The night was super chill as we hung out over a simple but delicious meal, drank way too much wine, opened gifts and just enjoyed each others company.
our favorite flowers which happen to be very Christmassy
the yummiest (mainly goat) cheese/charcuterie board
continuing the ornament tradition, mom gave Adam & I the most gorgeous set of 4 ornaments to hang on our tree
we started the meal with our fave crab cakes from Clean Catch
I was so happy with how my Pear & Pomegranate Christmas Salad turned out, and mom, dad & Adam loved it!
This Green Beans with Toasted Walnuts and Dried-Cherry Vinaigrette recipe from Epicurious was so good. We’ve been loving some green beans lately!
pork tenderloin, was so good, as always. I was so full by the time we got to this I only had 2 thin slices.

mom made her Rice Balls! OMG. Its not Christmas without Rice Balls!!
mom’s Gingerbread Cake is so freaking good.
Until next year….
Much love & thanks for stopping in! xx
