Happy Heart Day! I hope your day was filled with so much love. I wanted to pop in with a little reminder, since Valentine’s Day can tend to be a mixed bag of feelings & emotions for many people…
My reminder for you is this:
The most important relationship you will ever have, is the one you have with yourself.
Sometimes I feel kind of weird saying that considering I’m in a relationship, but at the end of the day, I believe in this quote so much. You are responsible for your own happiness – no one else. I wish I realized this in my 20’s. Wow, I would have saved myself so many tears and so much sadness. With that being said, I am SO thankful for what I went thru as a twenty-something because those tough times made me the woman I am today. And that woman is confident, happy, content and full of joy.
“You yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe, deserve your love and affection”
– Buddha
Another reminder, especially if you are new to LS.com, Adam travels a lot. Like, all the time. In fact, he was gone for 9 months at one point in our relationship for a job in New Orleans. NINE MONTHS! I love my boo more than anything in the world, I hate when he is gone and I miss him to pieces when he is away, but I would be one sad little lady if my personal happiness relied entirely on Adam. {he happens to be traveling for work this week and will be home tomorrow morning.}
Life is full of ups & downs, twists & turns + people entering & leaving your life. The one person who will always be there is YOU. So if your reading this and Valentine’s Day happens to leave you feeling less than cheerful, I hope this post helps you reconsider whatever not so happy thoughts & feelings you might be having and instead, show yourself some love. Think about all the blessings you have in your life, the people you have in your life who make you happy. Do something to treat yourself – chocolates, a great glass of wine, a bubble bath, a yoga class {I went to yoga tonight and class was amazing}, buy yourself a little something, read a self improvement book to help you focus on the good, put post it notes with positive affirmations written on them around your house, listen to music…do all of these things daily/weekly and just remember to be kind to yourself.
Lots of love to you! xx
