Hey hey, friends! Happy March and welcome back to the Monthly Edit.
Let’s jump right into what February looked like…
LIFE LATELY…
I don’t know about you guys, but I am so glad to see February go. Every year, I seem to find myself in what I’ve coined the ‘February Funk’. We’ve had so many grey & gloomy days, it feels like winter will never end and my body feels out whack. I’m so ready for the weather to warm & the days to grow longer… I absolutely thrive on sunshine and I’m really needing some in my life. lol
Another thing raining on my parade… I came down with a terrible cold mid month. I was feeling run down from a weekend of too much fun + a couple late nights. Rather than resting on Monday, I decided to workout (I know better) and wore my immune system down even more. I literally got a sore throat within an hour of finishing my workout, had body aches for a couple days and have been fighting off some icky head + chest congestion ever since. I’m thankfully starting to get back to my normal energy levels and the congestion is clearing – YAY.
February wasn’t all bad, of course! Highlights were celebrating my nieces’ 13th birthday, momma’s 65th birthday, an engagement party for the sweetest couple + a baby shower for one of my best friends and, a super fun event at Lost & Found hosted by my friend & rockstar mortgage lender, Carlin Ham. Give her a follow on IG @ClosingWithCarlin — she shares a ton of industry knowledge and makes you laugh while doing it!

I also had a super fun night out with my sister. We bought tickets to a show for our parents as a part of their Christmas present that was supposed to take place in January. The show got pushed to end of Feb due to Covid, but our parents were out of town, so, we decided to go in their place and had the best time! We did dinner at one of my favorite restaurants, The Jimmy, then headed over to the Belk Chapel for the concert featuring music from Beethoven. The concert was put on by Secret Charlotte and we absolutely loved it. Each concert takes place at a different venue around Charlotte, is candle lit and each show pays tribute to different artists. Highly recommend.
FIT + WELLNESS.
I can’t quite put my finger on it, but I have just felt off lately. My digestion sucks, my stomach has been bloated, I’m holding onto a couple pounds and I definitely have not been working out as much or as hard as I usually do. I think my body just rejects winter. lol I am overdue for some Accupuncture and I think I’m going to book a couple sessions with my acupuncturist for a little reset as we transition into a new season.
I also got into a terrible habit of snacking at night. I basically eat all the gluten free crackers & hummus. haha there are worse things to be munching on, for sure! But it’s such a bad habit, purely out of boredom. I’ve put a hard stop to that and I’m currently not buying any hummus. lol
WATCHING.
INVENTING ANNA.
If you haven’t watched this show, you must. omg, what a wild & crazy story that is based on the true story of Anna Sorokin who posed as a German Heiress in Manhattan and scammed people & banks out of hundreds of thousands of dollars.
SWEET MAGNOLIAS.
Binged Season 2 of Sweet Magnolias and loved it just as much as the first season. So much drama happening in the sweet little southern town of Serenity. lol
MARVELOUS MRS. MAISEL.
Season 4 is finally out. I’ve watched the first two episodes. I’m actually not loving it as much as the past seasons and Susie’s character is kind of getting a little annoying.
MY BEST FRIEND ANNE FRANK.
I watched this movie on Netflix based on the real-life friendship between Anne Frank and Hannah Goslar. I’ve always been fascinated with everything about the Holocaust and this was such a sweet story about their relationship while also being incredibly sad.
CAN YOU KEEP A SECRET?
This was the cutest movie on Netflix! I watched the trailer and it had me sold. Such an adorable love story.
THE BACHELOR.
I was so glad to see Shanae go! haha loving the girls who are left and heading to hometowns. I was sad to see things play out the way they did with Sarah. I actually have a friend who knows her personally so I was kinda rooting of her. Based on the teasers, I’m so curious to see how all this love & drama unfolds at the end of the season. haha

USING.
HAIR, SKIN, BEAUTY & SUPPLEMENTS.
EMPTIES.
- Summer Friday’s CC Me Vitamin C Serum – a long time favorite. love this serum for brightening & evening out my skin tone.
- Indie Lee Daily Vitamin Face Oil – love this hydrating face oil AM or PM.
- Nature’s Truth Black Elderberry – I’ve been popping these elderberry supplements several times a day since getting sick middle of the month and continue to take them to boost my immune system.
- Emergen-C Vitamin C Powder – I’ve been a fan of Emergen-C for years & years. I’ve been drinking a packet a few times a week for my immune system as well. I always take these along when traveling. So good to keep your immune system strong while traveling on planes, etc..
I’ve been really loving the Seabuckthorn Oil + Facial Reflexology tool I mentioned in my January Edit. I’ve been oil cleaning at least 2x a week and I can actually see & feel a big difference in my skin. Particularly in my usually dry skin. I’ve really gotten into the reflexology and I’ve been doing a couple different routines from Dana every morning when I wake up.
I’ve also been working through some old products I’ve had sitting around – products I was using but didn’t finish for whatever reason or samples I’ve been gifted from brands — and I just want to clear out some product so I can switch up my skincare routine as we head into a new season. I hate wasting anything so I want to use up everything before purchasing new ones. Most of the products I use have been a part of my routine for a good 2-3 years and I’m feeling like it’s time for a change. Stay tuned!
AROUND THE HOUSE…
I finally ordered a couple pieces for my bedroom. I have literally been searching for over a year for a vintage nightstand on marketplace and have had zero luck. It’s been driving me crazy to not have any type of bedside table, so I purchased a couple items from Zara Home and I am so happy with what I got. I was hesitant to purchase because I wasn’t sure of the quality, but I am so impressed with the quality especially for the price. I got this recycled wood stool and this marble side table.
The stool is exactly as pictured. I love the natural, rustic vibe and it’s the perfect addition next to my bed. The marble side table is great quality. The marble is solid and the metallic legs look so pretty. very happy customer over here.
I am so excited for the start of a new season, for warmer weather, longer days, more time spent outside and all the other beautiful things that come along with springtime.
Happy March. I hope you have an amazing month! xx
