This past weekend, Adam and I took the drive up to Hendersonville, NC with my parents, sis, bro-in-law and niece & nephew to go apple picking @ Grandad’s Apple’s N’ Such (blog post on Grandad’s to follow).
You have no idea how much I would have loved to be in jeans, boots, a sweater, scarf – all my fall favorites – for our fun mountain getaway, but instead I was sweating as we went thru the corn maze with my niece & nephew and wandered thru the apple orchard! ugh… not exactly the fall feeling I was envisioning. (LOL)

Considering the 90+ heat & humidity… this combo of my favorite denim cutoff’s (on sale, orig. $132, now $92) + this Madewell Plaid Button-down (currently on sale from $79.50 down to $44.99) + a pair of oldie but goodie slouchy booties (these boots are super old but I’ve linked a couple fun olive booties below!) was as fall as I could get! (LOL)
Once we had our fill of Grandad’s — all the apples, pumpkins, cabbages, local honey, squashes, apple butter + a fried apple pie for Adam (that boy can eat anything he wants and never gain an ounce!! so not fair), we headed just down the way to Chimney Rock for a lite lunch at Medina’s – a sweet little bistro in the middle of town. Afterwards, we walked down to the creek to let the kids play in the water and climb the rocks before heading back down to CLT.
Other than the heat (meh) this was such a fun day! I think in a couple weeks it will be absolutely perfect and a wonderful fall activity for the family or a romantic day in the mountains.
Thanks for stopping in!
Happy Hump Day! Hope everyone is having a wonderful week! xx
Much Love,
