Hello Hello! It’s that time again! Hope you are all having a beautiful weekend and enjoying this summer-like weather. I can”t believe how warm it has been this week! No complaints here….I’m actually soaking up some Vitamin D as I’m writing this post. So nice! So! This weekend’s Green Smoothie is super simple. I blended this up after my yoga class yesterday and again this afternoon. I’ve been reading so much on smoothies — Green Smoothies in particular and learning a ton.
Today’s Green Smoothie goes back to the theory of “Less Is More”. I usually throw in everything but the kitchen sink – using all my different superfood powders – Spirulina, Green Superfood Powder, Ground Flaxseed…just to name a few. But, just simply greens alone have so many amazing health benefits, contain loads of vitamins and nutrients, that I decided to just keep it simple this weekend – and I LOVED it! I popped into Whole Foods after yoga and picked up this new brand of Super Greens Mix by Organic Girl and I totally love it. The mix consists of Baby Greens: Red & Green Swiss Chard, Tat Soi, Arugala & Spinach. Without all my usual powders blended in, I could really taste the greens and it was just so clean & refreshing. Without adding all the extras, your body is able to digest and absorb more of the nutrients offered by the greens. Don’t get me wrong, I will still continue to use my powders but its really healthy & beneficial to mix it up a bit!
Here’s the goods so you can make your own:
– Organic Girl Super Greens Mix (2 handfuls)
– Banana
– Kiwi
– Parsley
– Lemon
– Water & Ice
So easy! Blend it up and Enjoy! 🙂
Super Greens Mixture. These greens are lovely – so clean & fresh! 3x washed so you don’t have to do a thing – just grab a handful or 2 and throw ’em in the blender. If you can’t find this brand just pick up whatever is available to you. (organic if possible)
And voilà! Simple Green Smoothie. Notice how the color is much lighter than my other green smoothies.
I’m off to the gym to get in my Sunday workout. Catch you later! xx
