Hiya dolls! I am super excited to be sharing this special post with you all today. Last Wednesday evening, I had the opportunity to be a part of a truly beautiful evening of yoga love here in Charlotte. One of my good friends & one of Charlotte’s most loved yoga instructors, Kacy Pleasants, put together an incredible evening of yoga, heart & community. The night brought together so many amazing Charlotte yogi’s to make this heartfelt night come together.
On Rooftop 210 at EpicCenter, Kacy led a donation based yoga class benefiting Thompson, a charity that is near & dear to her heart. ( Read Kacy’s blog + see more fun fotos from this incredible night, here.) Myself along with several other yoga instructors representing many of Charlotte’s amazing yoga studios, assisted in hosting the event by collecting donations, assisting the yogi’s during their practice + wearing/modeling the absolutely gorgeous yoga & athleisure apparel provided by HAVEN Collective. Wanda Koch donated her time & talent, by capturing all the special moments of the night.
HAVEN Collective came in all the way from NYC to be a part of the event, showcase their new Fall line of clothing & so generously gave each one of us yogi’s that assisted in the event an outfit. Which leads me to the photos below…
For my outfit, I chose the Contour Leggings in black + the Asymmetric Top in NOHO Blue. Can I just tell you how awesome these leggings are!? They fit just so, hugging in all the right places. The Asymmetric top is so luxuriously soft you WILL want to live/sleep and do just about everything in it. Seriously tho…
If your anything like me and love knowing what’s behind a brand – the heart & soul, the people, fabrics, quality, how & where its made – please read the information, supplied by HAVEN Collective, below. After meeting & getting to know the fabulous founders of HAVEN, Tracy & Jillian, I fell in love with the line even more. They are just really awesome women! I admire their passion & the leap of faith they took, leaving some pretty rad positions to go after their dreams — I’m so incredibly inspired by them & I’m pretty sure you will be, too!
HAVEN’S MISSION
Our mission is to provide a HAVEN for bodies in motion — clothing that is graceful and intelligent, and activates one’s highest sense of self.
We are connecting women to a broader network of like-minded spirits. We recognize a responsibility to take care of the communities that take care of us, and take a local approach to philanthropy, providing support to organizations that our partners believe in.
Our clothing is mindfully designed. We believe in living with less, creating a line of essential pieces that withstand time and trend. Our fabrics are globally sourced from eco-conscious mills, and ethically sewn in America. We have an ongoing commitment to providing our customers with a perfect balance between form and function, constructing active-wear garments that embody sophistication through both look and performance.
Defining Differences…
THE LOOK:
Inspired by New York City, HAVEN provides modern, classic, simple silhouettes with subtle design details, lines that flatter the body, and chic neutral tones that can take you from the studio to the street. We design into three categories: practice tops, bottoms, and layering pieces – all of which withstand time and trend.
THE FABRIC:
Sourced from eco-sustainable factories globally (Italy and Canada), we work with the finest fabrics. We hand pick and custom dye each fabric we use to make sure it is the exact look and feel that we want. Soft Rayon Jersey, Micro Modal, Bamboo, and Italian Matte Jerseys provide both comfort and function (you have to feel it to truly understand it 😉
FUN FACT: The tops that are made from the Italian Matte Jersey is what Katniss Everdeen’s outfits were made from in the Hunger Games!
USA! USA!:
All of our clothes are produced ethically in the U.S. of A. Our first two collections were manufactured in Los Angeles, California. For our newest collection we brought our manufacturing home to New York City! (Brooklyn, to be exact)
THE TEAM:
Founder/CEO – Tracy Squillante, has a professional background in jewelry and Marketing as former VP of David Yurman, and also a 16 year yoga practitioner and twice certified as a yoga instructor.
Designer – Monica Nicoletti, prior to joining HAVEN was design director for Theory, DKNY and Rachel Roy.
VP Communications – Jillian Squillante , hail’s from the creative department of Michael Kors where she project managed print and digital pieces for the Marketing team. Jillian loves a good yoga class, but her strength is definitely not bending in half. Jillian is more of a swimmer/runner type girl, but loves a good yoga practice to strengthen her mind! 🙂
I LOVE the mission behind HAVEN and the simplistic approach they have taken in designing their gorgeous line of clothing, which as you read above, will withstand time & trend. I am a classic, basics girl myself, so the entire esthetic behind HAVEN really speaks to me & my style. I believe in investing in well-made clothing that will last beyond but only a season or the latest “must-have” trend.
