HELLO OCTOBER!
I couldn’t be happier to welcome the month of October and a new season! Fall is one of my favorite times of year. The weather is pure perfection – for a short while we get to enjoy some of the most gorgeous days. It’s like having West Coast weather here on the East Coast. The Carolina Blue skies are crystal clear, the humidity has dropped away and the air is so crisp & fresh! Then there’s Fall Fashion. {HELLO!} Jeans, Boots, Layers, Sweaters, Scarves, Hats, boots/booties — dressing for fall is the best!
This particular October is extra special for me as I am about to celebrate my 30th Birthday on October 3rd – Yikes!!!! 30 years old! Whaaaat?? Oh, Where have the years gone?! haha Totally kidding. I know many women struggle with this milestone birthday, but I welcome my 30th year with open arms and happily kiss my 20’s adieu. In an attempt to not get too personal and ramble on, the majority of my 20’s were sucked up by a terrible-awful, roller coaster relationship which did quite a number on me and my confidence. Crazy how a guy can do that to us, right girls? No doubt many of you out there can relate to this feeling. Fast forward a couple years, plenty of tears, some new friendships, travel, Yoga Teacher Training (a life changing experience -do it!) and simply, TIME. Made 29 a pretty transformational year for me.
With all that being said, here I am just days away from my birthday and I’ve never felt happier, more confidant or more at peace and secure with myself. Ahhh..such a great feeling…everyone should feel that way about themselves, don’t you agree?
I’d like to share something with you that a friend of mine shared with me in May of this year and it had a pretty profound effect on me. I hope that this inspires you as it has inspired me….
Why not make this month all about improving YOU and being the best YOU can be. Its a new month, a new season and we are on the brink of a new year! No need to wait for those silly New Years Resolutions – there’s no time like the present. The most important relationship you’ll ever have is the relationship you have with yourself. It’s not until you are TRULY, deep-in-your-heart-happy with who you are, that you can make others happy.
Take the time for some Self Study. You are your thoughts. We all have limiting behaviors and thought patterns that hold us back in life. Find out what yours are and turn them into positive, self-confidence building thoughts!
Just like the quote above says…
“We are all meant to shine”.
Go out and let YOUR special light shine… Be Strong. Be Sexy. Be Confidant and Own It! xx
Much Love,
