Last Thursday, Adam & I hopped on a plane to spend a long & sunny weekend in Austin, TX. It couldn’t have been a better time to get away from the cold weather/rain & snow we’ve been having here in CLT over the last few weeks…
Palm trees x blue skies x the sun on our skin felt so amazing & much needed!
I totally fell in love with the awesome city of Austin nearly 3 years ago, when I attended Wanderlust Yoga Festival. It was so much fun to be back in ATX, but this time, with my love by my side! We flew in to watch a rough cut of Loving, the movie Adam filmed while in RVA, had dinner with friends Friday night & the rest of the trip was spent enjoying all that Austin has to offer. Starting with…Hotel Van Zandt!
I’ve been a fan of Kimpton Hotels for quite a while, so when we picked this new & trendy place to stay & play, it made our little weekend getaway all the more fun.
I instantly fell in love with the warm modern design & decor of HVZ.
Bikes are available to take out for a spin, compliments of the hotel.
We had a Carolina Panther fan in the house! Loved these Panther doodlings on the coffee cups!
To say that Adam & I frequented Cafe 605 inside HVZ throughout the weekend, would be a bit of an understatement. We popped into the cafe 4x in one day! (haha)
Their coffee/lattes were SO good + lots of easy-to-grab, healthy snacks. (Plus, some delicious treats, too!)
Cafe 605 also carries a selection of Juiceland Juices, from the local ATX juice joint. We had one of these Recovery Punch juices, like, every morning.
Upon check-in, we were upgraded from a Deluxe King to a Spa King and our room couldn’t have been… roomier!
On the 4th floor, you’ll find Geraldine’s, Hotel Van Vandt’s restaurant. We never had a chance to eat here, we already had dinner plans every night, but we did pop up for drinks before we headed out a couple nights and all the food coming out looked great!
If your a fan of Tequila cocktails, definitely order up a Rita Sangrita – it will not disappoint!
The rooftop pool was the perfect way to spend our last day in Austin. Saturday got up to 80°, which meant poolside cocktails were definitely in order!
If your planning a trip to ATX anytime soon, I highly recommend Hotel Van Zandt. The entire staff were super friendly & we loved the overall laid back vibe of the hotel. We had such a great weekend, enjoying the hotel, its amenities & the area, which is full of great bars & restaurants to walk to or just a short Uber ride away. Plus, Lady Bird Lake for a long walk/bike/run.
As always, thanks for stopping in! I’ll be sharing more of our trip soon! xx
Much Love,
