Happy Sunday & Happy First Day of Fall! 🙂
Hope you are all having a great weekend and enjoying this amazing weather today! I don’t know about you, but there is something about a gorgeous, sunny day that just puts me in the best mood! Its so motivating to get outside and be active.
I’ve had a few of my clients ask if I could give them advice on how to make a smoothie, what do I put in my smoothie, can you send me a smoothie recipe, etc….So! I decided to do a little post on my Green Smoothie that I made this morning.
Most of my smoothies are green, but, occasionally I’ll leave out the greens and just whip up a yummy fruit smoothie. If you’ve yet to jump on the Green Smoothie movement, I seriously recommend you give it a try. If your a Green Smoothie newbie, I would recommend starting off with spinach. Spinach honestly has no taste once you blend everything together. Soooo, as long as you can get over the fact that your drinking something green, (yikes!!) I promise you – it really does taste good! 😉
Most of us don’t eat enough leafy greens on a daily basis, so making a smoothie is a really great and easy way to up your greens consumption. I simply started off with spinach in my smoothies and as I’ve gotten more and more into making them, I love to mix it up with different greens like Kale, Swiss Chard and romaine lettuce. Adding greens to your diet on a daily basis will boost your health, your energy AND have your skin glowing within just a couple of weeks! Who doesn’t want to be healthier, have more energy and have a healthy, glowing complexion?!
What You’ll Need:
– Organic Spinach (big handful)
– Organic Kale (handful, no stems, leaves only)
– Banana
– Kiwi
– Ground Flaxseed
– Green Superfood (one scoop)
– Organic Hemp Protein (2 tspns)
– Juice of 1 lemon
– Cinnamon
– Organic Chia Seeds (1 tbspn)
– 1 cup H2O & Ice
I use the Ninja Blender and totally love it! I upgraded to the Ninja from just your standard Oster Blender earlier this year and have no complaints so far. The Ninja easily blends up everything I throw at it and is super easy to clean up.
I hope you’ve found this little post helpful and inspires you to get in your kitchen and create a Green Smoothie of your own! Just a little note, I throw in alllll kinds of powders and superfoods in my smoothies for optimal health & nutrition which can alter the taste and consistency of the smoothie. I’m pretty much up for anything that helps me to look & feel my best. I’m constantly reading up on foods – specifically Superfoods and their many health boosting benefits/properties. With that being said, I know that everyone isn’t as open minded to introducing new foods to their diet so just start out with whatever you feel comfortable with and that you will enjoy.
Cheers to your health! xx
Hey! Where did you get your blender…and do you put all of that stuff into one smoothie?
I have the Ninja Blender, picked it up at Target. I love it! Yep, it all goes in together! 🙂
