January: National Oatmeal Month

January 12, 2014 · In: Breakfast, Clean Eats, Food

So January is officially The Month of Oatmeal, which couldn’t come about at a better time considering the record setting, freezing cold temps we’ve been experiencing here in CLT (and all across the country). There’s nothing more satisfying than a warm bowl of oatmeal (and coffee) on a cold, winters morning. I’ve been putting together some warm and cozy bowls of oats over the last couple of weeks that I have thoroughly enjoyed, and wanted to share them all with you!

I think we are all familiar with the health benefits of Oatmeal (not the processed, quick oats kind) — when eaten on the regular, oats are effective in lowering cholesterol, bringing down that high BP, stabilize your blood sugar + full of fiber to keep your belly full & happy.

I add alllll kinds of yummy additions to doctor up my oats which makes these bowls super delish (ous) & nutritious! Organic Coconut Oil + raw nuts for your healthy fats, dried Goji Berries and fresh berries for a dose of beautifying, antioxidants. Bananas take care of your potassium, cinnamon for natural energy & metabolism booster and maple syrup for a sweet treat that’s actually good for you — Organic, Grade B Maple Syrup is loaded with antioxidants, vitamins & minerals. Happy Month of Oatmeal — eat up! xx
