Hello lovelies.
Hope you all had a fun & safe Friday night and enjoying the weekend so far.My Friday fun started off at Fahrenheit – one of Charlotte’s newest restaurants AND very first rooftop bar/restaurant. Our little city is growing up!! Fahrenheit is located downtown (or uptown, whatever you call it) on the 21st floor of the Hyatt Place Hotel – which is actually half hotel/half condos. Pretty cool, no? So I popped into Fahrenheit for a cocktail after our charity event last weekend (uhm, I still need to post some photos from the event) but hadn’t eaten here until last night. Last night wasn’t exactly the best night to be heading up to a rooftop eatery, considering it was pouring rain all night. If you’ve yet to check out this new spot, I highly recommend going on a beautiful, clear night where you can enjoy the rooftop and the awesome views of our city. Walking into Fahrenheit last night, compared to last weekend was like walking into an entirely different place. Last weekend, all the nano walls were wide open creating that lovely bring-the-outside-in kinda feeling that I absolutely adore. Then we have last night…walls/windows all closed up – this 100% changed the entire atmosphere.
As much as I wanted to love the menu at Fahrenheit, I just didn’t. We started off with 2 apps – Ahi Tuna Wontons & Chorizo Stuffed Dates. The wontons with the Tuna app were stale and had a rubbery texture. Aaaand, as unhealthy as they may be, I actually did enjoy the stuffed dates, which were wrapped in bacon. I ate 2. They were tiny…think: Pigs in a Blanket. 😉 For the entrée selection, there really wasn’t anything calling my name. And for me, from a health standpoint there wasn’t anything that I would enjoy eating. I enjoy the natural flavors of food – not having my meat/fish, veggies or salads drowned in butter, oil & sauces. Ick!! With all that being said…I pretty much created my own entrée. I asked for the Salmon simply grilled, medium rare and had it served on top of this Frisée Greek Salad that came with a different menu item.
And somehow we all winded up at Bubble at the EpiCenter…ohh goodness! Good times dancing the night away 🙂
Evidently Bubble was having a masquerade party which, ya know… made for the perfect photo op 🙂 Much Love, xx
