Hello & Happy MidWeek! Hope everyone had a lovely, long holiday weekend and enjoying the short work week!
I’m happy to be back in CLT after a few ahhmazing, whirlwind days up in NYC for the wedding of one of my best friends. It was such an incredible weekend full of love, laughs, happy tears & I’m sure I can speak for everyone who was there, in saying that there were So many beautiful, memory-making moments throughout the entire wedding weekend.
Adam & I had an incredible time together — the weekend was just perfect — and going down in our book of “bests”, for sure! I flew up on my own early Thursday afternoon, and A was able to slip away from his crazy film schedule to join me on late Friday afternoon — just in time for the rehearsal dinner that evening at one of my favorite spots in the city, Beauty & Essex.
Saturday was The BIG Day! It was perfect in every way & it seriously couldn’t have been a more gorgeous day to get married at The Skylark, a rooftop lounge in Midtown overlooking Manhattan – particularly The Hudson, Times Square + a pretty epic view of the Empire State Building! The bride & groom said their super sweet vows just as the sun set and the rest of the night was spent singing, dancing, laughing, happy-crying and dancing the night away. Oh, and picture taking — lots of picture taking! lol
Sharing a little glimpse into our fun weekend now, but stay tuned for a couple other posts about our hotel, The Archer, what I wore to the rehearsal dinner + wedding photos after sorting thru them all! xx
Much Love,
I got all checked in at The Archer, dropped my bags and immediately headed up to Spyglass, the hotel’s rooftop bar on the 22nd floor to check out the view + get the weekend started with a little cocktail & a bite before meeting up with the wedding group at Malt House in The Village.
watermelon cocktails + this amazing ceviche on top a purple corn puree. #yum
I woke up on Friday morning and popped right on downstairs for some coffee & breakfast and then headed out to walk all around & explore Midtown. Whenever I’m in the city I usually eat/stay/play in The Village, Chelsea, SoHo, NoLita + a couple other faves. I’ve been in Midtown a bunch of times but have never properly taken it in. Adam’s flight was, unfortunately, super delayed on Friday so I spent most of my afternoon wandering around all over Midtown and Bryant Park.
I love writing cards to Adam and I just couldn’t resist this “You Are My Favorite” one I picked up at Urban Outfitters. I’m kind of obsessed with their super cute & unique greeting cards.
P.S. The Herald Square UO is pretty amazeballs. Totally go in, shop your face off and grab a coffee and/or bite in their cafe.

Adam finally got in, starving, around 4. We grabbed a little bite downstairs at the hotel before it was time to get ready for the rehearsal dinner. We shared this yum chicken salad + a seriously delicious mix of olives & Marcona Almonds …
off to the rehearsal dinner with this handsome thang
Saturday morning, ugh… everyone was feeling a little rough! lol
We slept until almost 10 and I had to be with the bride + all the girls for a little bridesmaids brunch + get the final details on the rest of the big day!
We took a little walk around the corner to grab some juices & this really declicious 5 grain oatmeal at Pret-A-Manger and sat outside to soak up the gorgeous morning! Then I was off to the meet the girls…
love these girls!!
regular readers know how much I love a good ass kicking at Barry’s Bootcamp whenever I’m in the city! I booked Adam and I for the 2pm class on Saturday afternoon with an instructor named Todd at the Chelsea location, which was pretty awesome because I’ve taken his class before! It was a killer 60 minute full body sesh and we did some pretty major High Intensity Inclines during the treadmill portions of the class. A good sweat was just what we needed post rehearsal dinner festivities / pre wedding celebrations! lol
we quickly grabbed smoothies, an Uber and booked it back to the hotel so I could shower and get ready to head over to the wedding venue to finish getting ready with the rest of the bridesmaids!
And finally the big moment had arrived!
Adam had to leave late morning on Sunday and my flight wasn’t until that evening. We grabbed some breakfast downstairs and then he was off to the airport to head back to RVA. I did more of one of my favorite things to do in the city — walk. Eventually, meeting up with part of our group for a fun mimosa brunch.
I had this really good this kale & quinoa fruit salad + a side of eggs for breakfast.
until next time, New York. <3
