Hiya & Happy Sunday. Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend!
Sharing some photos & fun from Weekend #2 visiting my babe up in RVA. It was a really wonderful, long & low key weekend — I was able to fly up last Thursday evening and came home first thing Monday morning.
As usual, our weekend was full of everything we love… checking out more great RVA Eats, we checked out a yoga studio, Hot House Yoga, for the first time since Adam has been in Richmond, a little pool time, an awesome gym sesh on Sunday, lots of sleeping in, good wine, walks, talks & quality time together. <3
My flight was delayed on Thursday evening, which put me in Richmond & at A’s place about 8pm. I quickly changed and we headed out dinner at Metzger. This spot has quickly become one of Adam’s faves in town & I totally loved it! Super cute & cozy vibes w/ a very German/Austrian influenced food & wine menu.
It was really nice to wake up on Friday morning already in Richmond and be able to spend the entire day with A. The day was especially fun, as I went on my first ever location scout! More than anything it was just really neat to be by his side and get to see what a “day-in-the-life” is for Adam while he’s up there. The movie is currently in pre-production, and there are still a couple locations that need to be locked in for the film. We spent the day in the truck driving all over God’s Country, making our way from Richmond to Charlottesville via beautiful back, country roads. There’s just something about the countryside, driving by field after field of wide open, green spaces, massive tress, corn fields, horse farms, sunflower fields & more old, white farm houses + front porches than you can imagine. At the end of the day, our drive back to Richmond, during golden hour, was SO gorgeous, as the warm light shined thru the trees, hit the fields and cast that golden glow all over.
Our morning started with these green smoothies…
2 handfuls organic baby spinach + 2 bananas + a nice size chunk of fresh organic ginger + a handful of organic strawberries + 2 scoops of raw vanilla protein // topped off with goji berries
“It is not easy to walk alone in the country without musing upon something.”
by the time we got into Charlottesville, we were starving!! It was that weird in between time, about 330ish where nothing was open until 5/530 for dinner so we made our way to Feast inside a cute little market and grabbed a bunch of healthy goodies..
right next door was this neat spice shop, The Spice Diva. We popped in, talked to the super nice store owner and loaded up on Matcha Green Tea, Black Sea Salt & fun lavender bags to place in our drawers.
From here we made our way over to Main St. to grab some tea & coffee at Mudhouse Coffeeroasters + a little walk thru the charming streets…there were so many cute shops, restaurants & great patios for outdoor dining.
I loved these words on the door as you came in & left Mudhouse… <3
by the time we got home we were both tired from our long day of driving all over + still a bit full from our late lunch so we just decided to stay in, relax and I made us a couple salads, topped off with a pinch of our new black salt! 🙂
Saturday yoga was so amazing and much needed. I hadn’t practiced all week and my body was feeling super tight and just outta whack from tough workouts in the gym. The class was super hot, the perfect combination between challenging and gentle to stretch it all out.
After yoga, we popped into Union Market for a little lunch. One side, Market. The other you can grab lite bites like soup, salad, sandwich and such from the counter. Grab a beer, glass of wine or one of the local kombuchas they keep on tap. If you live in CLT, think of Rhino or Common Market but a bit better appointed.
Saturday date night was at a really rad French Spot, L’Opposom. OMG. One of the coolest restaurants & definitely on the top of my list for RVA Eats.
wore this white & blue plaid summer number…full outfit post, here.
Sunday Morning, we walked to Urban Farmhouse. Such a cute spot although, not so great food. Then back home to lay by the pool for a bit, followed by an awesome workout, showers & then out to eat for Sunday Funday and my last night with my love bug. 🙁
really delicious din at Rappahannock. The tomato salad was pretty amaze balls. A mix of mini & large, local heirlooms topped off with this crazy good, house made rye muesli & blue cheese.
and back in CLT by way of the smallest commuter jet. ever. haha
until next time… xx – LS
