Happy Super Bowl Sunday, babes! Hope your having an awesome weekend!
We had such a gorgeous Saturday here in CLT yesterday and I so enjoyed the day!
Slept in, yummy breakfast and then an afternoon date with my dad at the gym, running errands & wheat grass shots! lol
I hadn’t done any intervals all week, so I made yesterday a cardio day and it felt amazing! My legs feel awesome today — not sore but can definitely tell that I worked them. 🙂
Here’s what my treadmill sesh looked like — combining 90 second endurance runs + 30 second sprints, adding 2 more sprints every round building up to 6.
On my second round of 30’s (4 sprints) I took a 20 second recovery instead of a full 30 seconds. This really keeps your heart rate elevated which means extra fat burning & elevated metabolism throughout the rest of the day! Sweeeet!! 🙂
I always, always start with some dynamic warm ups, (i.e: jumping jacks, butt kicks, high knees, high kicks) + a few pilates mat exercises for my glutes & hamstrings to make sure that these muscles fire more during my runs because I’m so ridiculously quad dominant. Please make sure you warm up properly — especially now, during the winter. This is so important to prevent injury & muscle strain. Of course, be sure to stretch and/or foam roll afterwards.
one of my go to stretches — really gets into my hip flexors, quad & even a bit of psoas.
Apres sweat was wheatgrass shots & restocking on a few must haves at Earth Fare.
strawberries | lemons | cucumbers | cacao nibs | red cabbage | raw sunflower seeds & pepitas
| Goat Yogurt | Eggies | Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk
| Plant Fusion – Plant Protein in Vanilla Bean Flavor
brek was this lovely bowl of broccoli, cauliflower & brussels sprouts stir fried with coconut oil, turmeric & 2 eggs
I had already steamed a ton of broccoli & cauliflower a few days ago + had these roasted brussels left over so it was so easy to throw this together! planning… 😉
