As we’ve been experiencing some record breaking cold temperatures this winter, my already dry (and sensitive) skin has been drier than ever!
My skin care routine is super simple – cleanse & cover my face & neck with a more than generous amount of creme + exfoliate 1x a week. I’m pretty obsessed with cremes & body care products, in general, and always have been. I cover myself, head to toes in lotion every single day. For me, this is even more important in the winter so I don’t feel so damn dry — my body sucks. it. up.
For whatever reason, my trusted go-to moisturizers just haven’t been cutting it this year when it comes to hydrating my parched winter skin — especially when it comes to night time moisture. I go to bed with a face full of moisturizer and wake up feeling all sucked in, dry + visibly dry skin – around my nose in particular.
So, I decided it was time to scope out a new moisturizer. I just so happened to be in the Aveda store exchanging a product that my boyfriend bought and didn’t like so while I was in, I figured I’d take a look just to see if there was anything amazing that I could get for my face.
The girl helping me was super sweet & helpful and recommend this Botanical Kinetics – Intense Hydrating Rich Creme.
This creme is kinda everything it claims to be – intensely rich & hydrating, I’ve been using this velvety creme morning & night for nearly a month now and within just a few days I could see & feel such a difference in my face.
Instead of waking up with dry, dehydrated skin, it’s been the complete opposite within just a couple days of using this super hydrating creme.
I’ve stayed away from Aveda products in the past because I’ve always thought that they were just too heavily scented, which I think was actually just a bad memory from an ex-boyfriend who used their men’s hair care products! haha
This creme does have a light botanical scent to it, but definitely not overwhelming. Just as the description says, this creme is rich & velvety – it feels amazing every time I put it on but not too heavy that it doesn’t sink into your skin OR just feel like your washing it off in the morning.
I honestly can’t say enough about this creme and its been my saving grace — or should I say saving face?! lol — getting me through one of the coldest winters I’ve ever experienced! The other thing I love about this creme & Aveda in general, is that all their products are naturally derived, plant based & organic — which is very important to me, considering our skin is our largest organ, soaking up everything we put on it.
I’ve actually been using this Botanical Kinetics Energizing Eye Creme as well, and love it, too! The girl helping me in the store gave me a sample to try out and I’m just about out of it, so I’ll be buying the full size tube soon!
