I squeezed in one last, over-too-quickly, NYC weekend to enjoy the city and visit my BFF just before Christmas. I was lucky enough to make it out of CLT on Saturday morning with no delays, whatsoever and touched down at LGA to a snowy, winter wonderland. For some reason, I couldn’t have been more happy about this. Just in the mood for some REAL snow. (not the half an inch of ice we get in Charlotte)
Hopped in a taxi to link up with my gf who was already out for SantaCon to grab her keys and drop my luggage at her apartment. So not in the mood to start drinking at 1pm…decided to spend a few hours on my own. Passed thru Washington Square Park (a must), wandered around the village for a bit just enjoying the city and feeling as if I were in a snowglobe before landing myself at The Marlton Hotel. I’ve had this spot on my radar for a little while now and was so excited to check it out. I must say that this hotel was everything I expected it to be.
Warm & and inviting lobby/bar perfectly appointed with eclectic tables, chairs & sofas that create a European charm that just draws you in and makes you want to hole up inside for hours. I couldn’t think of a better place to spend a couple hours, warming up from the cold & the snow outside. I settled myself in on one of the many cozy couches, next to a window to enjoy the beautiful snow falling outside.
The Marlton
Ordered up an Almond Milk Latte as soon as I stepped inside…
Poached Eggs + Quinoa w/ Roasted Kale
I think these roasted Brussels were even better because they were served in this adorable mini copper pot. LOVE.
Spent a couple hours doing some work and just simply enjoying the hotel + people watching. Could have stayed here for days. Finished up, got myself all bundled up to walk and meet up with the SantaCon group. It wasn’t too long before we decided to grab a bite to eat at Gemma – another one of my fave spots. Again, warm x cozy x European charm…my kinda place.
Gemma

Done with dinner, walked back to apartment to freshen up before catching a show at The Gramercy Theater. Drinks, Singing, Dance Party made for another memorable and fun night with good friends!
