Hey Hey Loves! Ahhh, I’m excited to finally be sharing this sweat-your-face off HIIT Treadmill Workout that I like to call the Sprint Ladder!! Wee
This is one of absolute favorite treadmill workouts that I created & started doing about 3ish months ago! This is an awesome way to get your heart rate up, scorch some serious calories in a short amount of time & boost your metabolism so your burning more calories at rest! #winning
HIIT is one of my favorite ways to train and I usually do at least 1 HIIT workout if not 2 per week (depending on what other workouts have looked like).
What I love about the Sprint Ladder, is that your gradually working into your max sprint speed. I’m a huge advocate of a proper warm up. With that being said, before every workout, I complete either a series of dynamic warm ups (jumping jacks, butt kickers, high knees, etc..) or I hop on a piece of cardio equipment and/or do a bit of incline walking (as I have you doing here) to active my hamstrings since I tend to be pretty quad dominant (as many people are). With the structure of this HIIT Workout, your getting in a proper warm up and then some, especially since your double-timing each sprint!
I’ve given a “suggested workout” that I believe will work for many fitness levels. Use the sprint speeds given – start to finish – or modify where needed. That’s the beauty of this workout!! 6.0 is a good “jog’s pace” for [me] to warm up, but perhaps a better starting speed would be 5.0 or 5.5 for you. And for the finish, maybe you go to 8.5, maybe you don’t or maybe you exceed it!
