Word of The Year: Abundance

Happy Monday, my friends! Hope your weekend was good? It was absolutely freezing in Charlotte and I spent a lot of time inside hiding from the cold. {lol} Can we just fast forward to spring, please? This was the first weekend in several weeks that I didn’t have showings with clients. I did some yoga, ran some errands and finally watched Oceans 8! Have you seen it!? I totally loved it! What a great cast!

So let’s talk about this Word of The Year thing, shall we!? I’m sure you have seen this concept of choosing a word to focus on for the year floating around the social space – yes? no? If you haven’t, I am here to enlighten you.

Let’s start by saying I have never chosen a “Word of The Year” before and I am excited to do so! As you can see from the title of this post, my Word of The Year is ABUNDANCE.

I think the notion of choosing one word to focus on for the year is brilliant! Right now, the whole New Year frenzy is fresh and it is super easy to feel motivated and have a “I’m going to do this and achieve that” mindset. But what happens when the shininess of it being a brand new year wears off and your motivation goes out the door with it? You come back to your WORD, your FOCUS. It is so easy to get sidetracked from our goals – we all know life has a way of getting in the way, right? Don’t let that be the case this year. Let your word bring you back!

Write down your Word of The Year. Make a Vision Board – whether it be a physical board in your home or on Pinterest. Write a daily journal to help you stay on track. Wake up everyday, look at yourself in the mirror and say YOUR WORD out loud – put it out there in the Universe. Perhaps choose an affirmation to go along with it? The mindset that you wake up with is so important. Remember, you create your own happiness – no one else – and that happiness starts anew, everyday when you open your eyes.

One of my favorite podcasts is Style Your Mind with Cara Alwill Leyba. Cara’s podcast is all about positive energy and building a beautiful life. Which, as you guys know, I am all about! In one of her episodes, she asks “what are you available for”?

Just a few things I am available for, in abundance, in 2019:

  • self love, confidence and happiness
  • continued good health & wellness
  • fulfilling friendships & relationships
  • travel, adventures and beautiful
experiences with Adam, my family & friends
  • clients + continued growth & success in my real estate career
  • more growth, opportunities and partnerships for my blog & brand

What’s your Word of The Year!? Don’t have one? I invite you to join me in choosing one this year! I would love for you to share your word with me in the comments below. Or feel free to send me an email here: LS@laurenschwaiger.com or DM me on Instagram.

Cheers to this brand new week, this new year! Wishing you an abundance of everything you have your heart & mind set on for 2019! xx
