Using my ClassPass Membership, I was able to checkout a new studio here in Charlotte, Xtend Barre that I actually had never even heard of until I logged into the list of available classes/studios participating with ClassPass Charlotte.
I have to admit, barre classes typically aren’t really my style. I’ve tried a couple other barre studios in town but just couldn’t really get into it.
However, I do believe in trying everything at least once, because you never know until you try and I seriously couldn’t have loved the class more!
Before committing to the class I popped over to the Xtend Barre website to read up on their teaching methods & and just inform myself a bit about the studio & what to expect.
Just as you’ll read on their website, “If you’re expecting just another barre workout, think again.” I have to say, this statement is pretty on point. I totally loved the class which was unlike any other barre class I’ve taken before. I loved the unique & super fun combination of pilates, dance & barre techniques.
The dance element wasn’t too “dancy” and the barre techniques/exercises were a combination of full ROM (range of motion) + shorter/pulsing movements.
Too be expected from a barre class, my ass was on fire & I swear my booty was perkier as I walked out the door! haha
I definitely recommend checking out Xtend Barre for a fun, high energy & challenging workout.
Helpful things to know:
– our Charlotte Xtend Barre studio is located in the Metropolitan on the back side of the building. (behind West Elm) Parking can be a bit nuts here, so parking just across the street at Target and walking over is an easier option or just make sure you give yourself enough time to most likely circle the parking deck a few times to find a spot + walk around back to the studio. 😉
– If you don’t already have a pair, you’ll have to purchase a pair of socks with the little grips on the bottom.
– sweat towels provided
– water filter + small cups available
