Hey guys! I’m super excited to share today’s post with you all! If you’ve been tuning into my posts & stories on Instagram, you’ve seen that I’ve been spending quite a bit of time in New Jersey & NYC recently. Adam is shooting a pilot in Jersey for 6 weeks, so I’ve been flying back & forth between Charlotte & Jersey over the last several weeks. We have an apartment in Hoboken, overlooking the Hudson River & the Manhattan Skyline. It’s been such a great location to hang our hat for the last several weeks and so easy to walk all over, hop in an Uber or catch the PATH train into the city.
My first weekend visiting was actually my first time in Jersey – ever – and I must say, I have grown to love this cute & charming city across the river. I’ve always loved NYC {I mean, who doesn’t love the energy of The Big Apple!?} but don’t underestimate Jersey City & Hoboken! If your anything like me, they will have you hopping on the PATH Train more often! 😉
Adam & I are big foodies. One of our favorite things to do when traveling is to scope out the best food & drinks wherever we are! So, without further adieu…below is my list of the best spots to eat & drink your way through Hoboken & Jersey City + other cool spots I’ve discovered along the way.
Hoboken
- Antique Bar & Bakery – obsessed with this place — you MUST go! The coal fired oven is 100+ years old and I adore the old school charm to this place. Their food is incredible, great drinks and delicious baked goods.
- Grand Vin Kitchen & Bar – chic & charming spot for Italian & American food + drinks
- Tutta Pesca – Italian Seafood Restaurant & Fish Market {make a reservation!}
- Sorellina – Italian Kitchen & Wine Bar
- Carlo’s Bake Shop {The Cake Boss!!!}
- Alfalfa – cute & cozy spot for coffee, soups & salads, bowls & sweet treats.
- La Bouche Cafe – sweet & simple spot for breakfast, brunch, lunch & yummy baked goods
- Greek from Greece – ‘GFG’ Bakery & Cafe – great spot to pop in and grab a coffee, tea, baked goods, soup, salad, sandwich & all the beloved greek goodies, of course!
- Stingray Lounge – restaurant + raw bar
- Zack’s Oak Bar & Restaurant – classic American, neighborhood eatery

Other Cool Spots to Check Out…
- Ma’s Gourmet Market – love this local market. An upscale bodega, if you will.
- Soho Flower & Garden – beautiful flower & botanical boutique
- The Margo Market – high end boutique with a focus on sustainability & supporting artisans all over the world – shop a mix of fashion, beauty + home goods & decor.
- Hoboken Waterfront Walkway – the BEST views of Manhattan and the perfect place to walk, run, ride a bike along the Hudson River.
- Mint Market – Vintage & Contemporary Women’s Boutique. 2 locations – Jersey City & Hoboken – I went to the JC location.
- PATH Train – yes! I’m including this on my list!! Hear me out… I feel like so many people who live in Jersey don’t often go into Manhattan and a lot of Manhattanites/Brooklynites turn their noses up to crossing the river. The PATH Train is less than a 10 minute walk from our apartment on River Street and its like having the absolute BEST of both worlds at your doorstep — the excitement & energy of NYC + the slower pace of New Jersey. I’ve always shied away from the train system, but after my last couple trips up, some reading + discovering & downloading the “RidePATH” App – I’m now a pro at navigating the train! {lol} I must admit, the PATH Train is way easier than the subway, tho!! Any way, point of my rambling…no matter what side your on, take advantage of the train. It’s only $2.75 per ride and super easy. From Hoboken, the PATH train stops at Christopher Street, 9th street, 23rd & 33rd Street. I got myself a SmartLink Card and loaded it up with 10+ rides which makes catching the train a breeze.
- FlyNYON – Helicopter rides over New York City! The FlyNYON Terminal is about a 30 minute drive from Hoboken in Kearny, New Jersey. Adam actually discovered the place because the terminal is near the production offices that Adam drives to for work everyday. He checked them out one evening after work, got some info & booked us a ride! We did a 30 minute, doors off, night time flight {we wanted sunset but it was already booked} and it was one of the coolest things we’ve done together! We arrived 1 hour & 15 minutes before our scheduled ride to watch the safety video, get set up in our harnesses, run thru some more safety stuff + get our phones/cameras set up in one of their approved holders. The rides are pricey but TOTALLY WORTH IT!
